I.36 TeratO Elo Leagues

What is the aim of the ELO-experiment? 
a) Promoting the elo-system for populous community. 
b) Try to make ppl understand how it works and to take fear of it (some ppl here still think i only wanted to use it for giving me advantages in league or for producing my ego and other poo. If u want to catch me away from top league easily - just support the elo-ladder :-) ) 
b) Collecting data to see (amongst other things) if some factors in the elo-equations should be rescaled to fit better to pop. 
c) Just for making up something new here. 
e) Alltogether the elo-experiment is part of the currently going project for the implementation of an fullautomatic elo-based ladder to Pop-MM. 

I will calculate ur Elo-Nr. automated and i take your game reports manually. The ELO-nr. shows you skill in relation to the other players. When i have enough elos ill post a rating list. Its a league that is sorted by the Skill of the players! I will claculate ur overall elo and trying to calculate a map elo. I want to see how or if the overall elo goes together with the map elo. Cause im doing it by hand it will need a bit time until i will publish the first Elo.Nr. Note: u will have played at least 7 rated games before i will publish the elo. 

I put almost all players onto my listand elo-rate them, who appear in the game reports. But i will publish the elo of players only who joined the experiment as A-player. That way i give them credit for supporting the elo-league idea. 


Procedure: 
When im in lobby and u gonna play a game, do the following: Tell me + playernames + teams + map + result. 

To make it short: player1 player2 - player3 player4 1-0 mapname 



# Rules/Conditions: # 
+) There are 2 types of experiment-members: A-player: elo is published, B-player: elo is calculated but not published. 
+) to join the experiment: Post either "join Elo (publish)" or "join Elo (no publish)" in this thread. 
+) Both member types/players give game reports pvt to me in lobby. 
+) Only 1v1s and 2v2s, no ffa, no 1v2, no 1v3 ! 
+) At least 7 games per player to publish ur first ELO-Nr.! - After this elo-table is updated several times a day, when i have time. 
+) NAMECHANGING: U need to tell me when u change your lobbyname for i can update it in list and league. 1 player with 3 names rated doesnt care 
elo-system but it needs more time to let the Elo of that player go to his real elo. I give you my word of honour that i will never tell your new name to 
anyone! 
+) Reports have to be done like this: player1 player2 - player3 player4 1-0 mapname (1 game 1 line !!!) 
+) Try to play different players and not the same ones all time! This makes the ELO going faster to be accurat and makes less work for me!

P.S. Btw its also possible that i calculate clan elos or calculate the elos inside clanmembers, with that u can see whos really the best in ur clan.

Clan Elo Leagues (CELO)

 

Notes on the CELO:
The Clan ELO (CELO, scaled sum ELO) is the the sum of the active clanmembers overall ELO (including 1v1 and 2v2 games) with the current number of rated (active) clanplayers per clan as reference number for the scaling.
Reference Clan Size:
Based on active clanplayers and the size of each clan there is an average active Clansize calculated - the reference size. 
Players of a clan are taken in or taken out of the clans rating to meet the reference size best. If a clan has less active players than reference number: inactive players additionally are rated for their clan - starting with the next previous active player up until the reference number is reached or no player available. Inverse when a clan has more active players than the reference number: The less active players become unrated until the reference number is reached.
The intention is to make it better to compaire and to take activity into account. 
Scaling the CELO: 
If all listed clans had the same number of rated members now, then the CELO was the sum of the ELOs of the players - combined power.
Still there might be clans with less rated players than the reference number, which would make the sums not expressive.
Therefore the sumCELO is scaled: 
The ELO sum of the clans rated players divided by their number gives the strength (ELO) which one (imagined) player contributes to his clans combined power when all members were thought equal in skill.
That part multiplied with the reference number gives the Scaled CELO of the clan.
Scaled CELO = (sumELO / players) * reference clan-size

The average ELO (avgELO) is the sum of the players ELOs divided by the number of players. This is like the clan would be in average representated by one player having that ELO.
That value is used for getting the Percentile of a clan in the overall community player distribution.
