THE POPULOUS BIBLE
K.29 Level Changer
The Level Changer was the second program "TedTycoon" wrote for Populous which did file management commands to allow single player levels to be played in multiplayer. The program renamed different single player levels to one of the multiplayer levels (e.g. levl2001.dat to levl2080.dat). It became quite popular in the Populous community as it was one step to playing different levels than the same original ones.
It was written in VB6 back in 2003 when Ted had little knowledge, hence the design. After developing this program, he then went on to create Ted's Populous Site which hosted the download for it. Since the Populous Reincarnated matchmaker has been online, the Level Changer became defunct as it was easier to install mappacks via the matchmaker. However TedTycoon made SP Worlds which was a mappack containing all the single player levels with slight modifications such as removing the buildings.
