1- First of all, could you present youself and maybe add some background on yourself?

-First of all, I'd like to say sorry for not answering to this e-mail longer ago.

Hi guys, I am most known as Nici and I am currently in Rw, There's not really much I can add about myself, It's been 6 years since I've been playing, although lately populous has been boring as hell. I registered in October 2008 but only started playing for real in July 2009, all I remember from those times is me losing a 1on1 vs a girl, which as weird as it may seem, is from my city.

I have had many clans in the past, and often known as clan hopper, but those times have stopped. In 2009 i was 12, now I'm about to turn 18, in June 30, time doesn't walk, he runs, it's been so long. I somehow managed to be in the top 5 in leagues, after 1 year of playing, with still the age of 12, which is something i pretty much loved!

 

2- What is so special about Populous, that other games don't have?

Populous is so much about micro managing and macro, so much tactics, you can never be the most smart guy playing, there will always be someone outsmarting you, that's what is wonderful about this game. Populous is an amazing level, I love it to death, just wish more competitive players would play! 

 

3- What do you think about people wanting a Populous remake or even a Populous 4? And why?

No, no and no. People are used to Populous 3, There is a populous 4 already(PopTribalConquest), and nobody has been too excited about it, apart from just trying it out, nothing else. People are used to populous 3, I don't see it changing anytime soon. 

 

4- What would you say to a newcomer that is just starting to play Populous in 2015?

Don't put yourself down, don't say you suck, don't say you'll never be good, the guys who became good, did they know they were gonna get that good? They didn't, but they kept playing endlessly, that's what I did, once before joining multiplayer I wished I could be a great player, because I had no clue that Pop3 could be downloaded, then when I found out, I started working on it, oh and Populous helps your english soooo but soooo much. Mine used to be worse than anything. 

 

4- Being on the top of the leagues, what do you think a player need to reach a high skill level on this game?

Dedication, The only guy who helped me was Rapid(Ric,Rapid_DT), and i am thankful for that, he helped me in 2 games and taught me things, but of course I did the most and went on to getting good, even if players put you down, do not give a shit about them, I remember people doing that with me, and now I would like to smash the shit out of them! Yea they are Orange, Hanzo, etc. 

 

5- Top 5 or 10 best Populous players of all time (ordered or not)?

This is too hard to do, Ordered is an headache, to me there are players who are closely skilled and beat each other a lot, everyone is beatable(nobody is unbeatable)

 

This is from my eyes, unordered:

 

Addiction, Nici, Genesis, Nefarius, Mentix, Fury,Divinity(Extremely Underrated, in my eyes if not the most underrated ever, meets top 10 easily, barely plays and still great), Spinnifix, Keith52, Luke94, Aravinth(Highly Underrated), Maganha(Underrated as well, great player from Brazil who within 6 months was already beating good players at diverse maps!, unfortunately ping puts him down). I will add another: ttamylno

 

6- Top 5 or 10 best Populous players in 2015 (ordered or not)?

It's basically what I wrote above, taking out Nefarius, Genesis, Shao, because I haven't played with them this year,

but im too lazy to remake a new one for this year

 I have played with Keith52 and must say he's nowhere the skill level he used to be, which saddens me a lot.

Most overrated:

Face Off, Pressure Point, Craters, Two on Two, Teleporting Islands, A Narrow Passage, Bifrost, Töm, 4 walls, Yggdrasil(Basically anything that is pp etc) 

 

9- What are your worst 5 or 10 online levels?

None, adaptation is the key. 

 

10- What are your most hated 5 or 10 online levels?

4way, Sessrúmnir Palace, and the list goes on, Blue off sucks too

13- You are mostly known as Nici. What makes you change your nickname so many times?

Sometimes it's fun, I mostly changed it with Divinity(Who is in GoD), because we live in the same town and love messing around, It's fun. I've sticked with Nici for some good months now. 

 

14- What are your favourite 5 allies?

Aww, love these questions! I've had so many allies, as you can look on my popre profile page, under Sidekicks, it's seen that they're all almost equal. I will add one more, I cannot pick really, so please let me. 6 of all time I love allying are Divinity, Keith52, Maganha, Luke94, Spinnifix and Addiction. In no special order! Allying Matt is great as well, most times.

 

15- What are your favourite 5 enemies?

IHard-Wear, Vlek, Ra, Spinnifix, Matt 

 

16- Who would you most likely avoid to play with?

Nobody = Nobody of all time, there's no reason not to play with anyone. 

 

17- How important using the forums?

It's important to get updated about all news and it's funny to see Gabber making a fool outta himself 

 

18- What do you think is missing in Populous online?

The removel of Reincarnation site trick, it should be removed, apart from that everything else is fine. 

 

19- Favourite spells?

Blast, Swarm, Light, Ghost, Earthquake

20- In your opinion, what are the strongest spells, mana-cost effectiveness wise?

Earthquake is great all the time, so is Firestorm, Firestorm looks like it takes a lot to charge, but it doesn't, when you're under pressure you think it does, but it doesn't. Charge it wisely, I don't really pay attention to mana-cost, If I need it, I need it.

 

21- What is your favourite single player level?

An Easy Target was great, I even remember once when I woke up with belly ache, when i turned on the pc to play pop, unwillingly, it was An Easy target level 12 :)

 

22- What was the hardest single player level when you started Populous?

The Journey's End haha 

 

23- What is the biggest challenge on changing between single player and online playing?

Adapting, specially to people, and to the fact there's no time to form your settlement!

 

24- Do you recommend Populous?

Hell yea, 24/7 

 

25- What are the best ways of reaching a bigger community? How can Populous be promoted?

Help via money, advertising, Populous was badly distributed, I wish it was more known. 

 

26- How important is streaming for this community, or even for the promotion of Populous?

Helps people skillwise, and much more, it's entertaining and people may stay in the lobby! 

 

27- What do you think about TheGabber-IncaWarrior situation?

It's pretty hard to deal with this, TheGabber acted like he was King shit of pop, he once started an argue with me and Brandan, and end up muting us for 160 minutes, which is pretty silly considering his age and the fact he keeps saying he wants the community to decide bla bla bla, then he threatens to ban us or mute or kick if we don't go his way. He even Called Stuart Whyte, to have an opinion about the blast trick, and Stuart Whyte end up saying that he was right, but in the end it would be the community to decide. Gabber is a moron, sorry to say, he literally came back to proclaim something he shat on. 

 

28- What are your favourite clans, players, streamers, administrators and populous sites?

Favourite clans: Pig, Rw, TAS, TLL

Players:  Mag, Divinity, Keith, Rapid, I like them all

Streamers: Fury and Keith are great, rhymes.

 

29- The Populous Bible was not yet released. This will be a blind question: What do you think

this Populous site will be like?

I actually think it will have every populous definition, if I can help with anything speak up!
